Company

We're security engineers who happened to pick Web3.

BlockVigil was founded in 2020 by a team from Google Project Zero, Trail of Bits, and the Ethereum Foundation. We audit protocols, run a global monitoring network, and publish research that makes the whole space safer.

Principles

Four operating principles.

01

Two teams, every time.

If an audit costs less than two independent reviews, it costs more than it should. Every BlockVigil engagement runs in parallel with a shared arbitration round at the end.

02

Prove it. Don't test it.

We prefer formal verification to fuzzing wherever it's tractable. Invariants we prove ship with you, into your CI, into your repo, into your future.

03

After mainnet, stay on shift.

The day an audit ships is the day security work begins. Watchtower monitors every block of every subscribed protocol, forever.

04

Transparency is leverage.

Every non-embargoed audit is public. Every post-mortem is co-authored. Every finding has a reproducible trace. Secrets don't make anyone safer.

05

Findings over reports.

A PDF is a tombstone. We deliver living issues with reproductions, fix guidance, and regression tests, all in your repo, not in an inbox.

06

Humans, with machines.

Tooling amplifies good engineers and exposes weak ones. BlockVigil hires the former and arms them with the best toolchain in the industry.

Team

42 engineers. 4 offices. One rotation.

The people who read your code before it hits mainnet.
